The Victron MultiPlus-II is the new inverter/charger combination for 48V to 230V. This device is specifically designed for energy storage systems (ESS) and has a continuous output of 5,000VA (4,000 Watts) and an integrated 48V - 70A battery charger.

 

This MultiPlus-II inverter/charger combination has all the features of the MultiPlus and the MultiGrid, including integrated islanding protection, plus an option for an external current transformer to implement PowerControl and PowerAssist and optimize self-consumption with external current sensing (max. 50A).

This new inverter/charger combination from Victron Energy is specifically designed for off-grid or grid-tied PV installations and alternative energy sources. The MultiPlus-II combines a powerful 5000 VA (4000 Watt) true sine wave inverter, an advanced battery charger with 70 amp adaptive charge technology, and a high-speed AC transfer switch in a single compact enclosure. The MultiPlus-II is VDE and TOR D4 certified.

 

Power Assist

The MultiPlus-II prevents overloading of a limited AC source, such as a generator or shore power connection. First, the battery charge is automatically reduced to prevent overload. Then, the charge is increased by using power from the battery, generator power, or shore power.

 

ESS: Energy Storage Systems

The MultiPlus-II is the core component of the Victron ESS (energy storage system), which allows for flexible combination with MPPT solar chargers or grid-tied PV inverters.

 

UPS Function (Uninterruptible AC Power)

In the event of a power outage or if shore power or generator power fails, the inverter in the MultiPlus-II automatically activates and takes over the power supply to the connected devices. This happens so quickly (within 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronics can continue to operate uninterrupted.

 

Remote Monitoring and Control

You can monitor and control your Multi and system(s) from anywhere in the world. This can be done locally (LAN) or remotely using the free VRM app and the VRM portal website. This can be done via a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or PC with various operating systems. With the required Color Control GX or Venus GX, the control possibilities are endless, from adjusting the Multi to automatically starting the backup generator and more.
